Digging Deeper ‘You Can Run…’ Jonah 1

When: Sunday, August 29th
Time: Right after church (11:30am ish)
Where: 212 Crim St. (Lori Wagner’s)(there will be a group leaving together from Olscamp to walk over)
Who: College students and their peers

Why does Brookside exist?  Pastor Kevin Crawford looks at Brookside’s 3 core movements.

Digging Deeper To the Core

1. Help who are in violation of a city ordinance on their home (lawn, paint chipping, ect.) and unable to do the changes themselves.
2. Reach out to international students through Global Connections more.
3. Help with ‘food for thought’ in Toledo.
4. Care for Military families who’s family members are deployed. (baby showers, mentor/ friend to kids)
5. Assist those who can not drive (taking them to doctor, grocery, ect.)
6. Keep up and collect unused fruit on trees in park for those in need.
7. Give to the food pantry, help at Martha’s Kitchen.
8. Volunteer at Woodlane.
9. Collect school supplies and food for students need meals.
10. Encourage our local teachers in some way.
11. Block party in neighborhoods to increase community.
12. Seek out needs at the Juvenile Center.
13. Help and encourage local business owners in tangible ways.
14. Alternative activities for collage students.
15. Get involved with the ‘Daughter Project’ (helps prevent human trafficking in NW Ohio and helps women get out of it.)
16. Befriend the homeless by making contact with them at Martha’s Kitchen.
17. Help at the Cocoon Shelter (shelter for battered and abused women and children)
18. Help with move in at BGSU.
19. Be involved with helping prevent suicide (suicide walk).
20. Work with ACT in giving our hot dogs.
21. Organize sports for the BG community to be involved with.
22. Free meal after church to the public.
23. ‘Adopt’ a trailer park community (help with repairs, many elderly and people in need)
24. Sponsor a Boy Scout Troop.
25. Clean up after Black Swamp and other public events in BG.
26. Crank up the ‘Great Rake.’
27. Prayer and encouragement night to ‘refuel’ volunteers.

Hi Brooksiders. The Ridge St. widening construction has officially begun today so we wanted to give you a heads up. We will do our best to have signs and direct traffic to alternative routes and/or parking spaces. Below is information the university has given us but again, please follow Brookside’s signs and/or traffic directing. Thank you!

Lots N and 14, near Jerome Library; Lot O, by the Student Health Center; the Bowen-Thompson Student Union east lot, east of Overman Hall, and the small lot between Eppler and Hays Hall will all be closed for the duration of the project.

All of Willard Street, along with Ridge Street up to 100 feet beyond Willard, will be closed beginning next week.

Lot 1, north of the Health Center, and lots C and 16, north of Moore Musical Arts Center, will remain open throughout the project.

Drivers and pedestrians are reminded to observe all directional signs and be aware of safety precautions.
